Flying from Los Angeles to Orlando, Florida, clear weather
over most of the route of my hopeful pedaling return provided a clear view, a quick
preview in reverse. Only on approach to
Orlando, did the aircraft encounter clouds which blocked ground view, while presenting
lovely rolls of cloud color in the falling sun.

Tomorrow, the adventure begins with a fifty-mile ride to
Palatka, followed Saturday by about the same flatland distance to Gainesville,
two of about ninety days until I reach home.
As I sit at this computer, all the planning and staging are over, only
the doing remains. Each day will be a
step, each turn of the pedals an unknown, each turn of the road perhaps it
waits—not knowing but anticipating creates enough reason to continue.
Hello Hello Sharon! Thanks for letting us know you landed safely, and for giving us your first town stopover. I'll gooogle Palatka. This trip will be another geography lesson. In preparation for your trip I've watched a few episodes of Swamp People on the History channel. Colorful.
ReplyDeleteMay the wind be always at your back, love, Liz
Liz,
DeleteI have not watched Swamp People, maybe it would deter the upcoming jaunt through swamp and bayou.

Dear Sharon after the long day of adventure here I am looking with you at the sky and land you have chosen for yours... Thinking of you and missing you. Hope to continue our lively dialog as the trip goes on... The weather looks like it is clearing a way for you there... Today the Black holes were very good in Pasadena as were the four kinds of tambourines, and the songs by Vaughn Williams I sang on poems of Blake. A (private party) celebration of our 12th engagement day was missing only you here...we'll miss you at Poetry tomorrow too... what are you reading along the way? I imagine it will be strenuous and admirable if you are able to read anything, and even more importantly, write! Looking forward to poem dairies of your journey and a great show at the end! Lovingly, Kathabela
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathabela for following again. Many email, but few post here on the blog. Of course either way is fine. We shall have a good ride.
DeleteIn your honor I will give wide berth to all the cyclists here on L A roads! Of course, many ride because they cannot afford cars. But I know there is comradeship among them, among you two-wheelers. Good luck. from Mary T.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are a non-homogeneous breed, and it's good to give our swerves a wide berth. But we who carry all our possessions with us are especially close. We almost always stop and talk on our chance meetings.
